About us

Harby is a village of some 400 houses in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir.

The Mens Institute, which latterly became the Village Hall, was opened on the 19 September 1925.

It is an active hall, with regular users including Pre-school, Harby Church of England Primary School, art classes, zumba dancing, Womens Institute, Brownies and Guides. Details of regular bookings can be found under the Bookings section.

In addition, the Village Hall committee, who manage the Hall, run a number of regular events including Proms in the Park, Open Gardens, Bonfire night, jumble sales, auctions and quizzes. Further details of these events can be found under Forthcoming Events.

The hall is also a popular venue for private functions, and bookings are welcome for birthday parties, christenings, family celebrations etc.

In 2012 we aim to host a great number of events, including the Queen's Jubilee celebrations, Olympic theme night, Variety night.

All users have access to kitchen including conventional oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, cutlery and crockery. There is a licenced bar run by the Village Hall. Please ask if you want a bar for your event. We are licenced for recorded and live music until midnight. The maximum number of people in the hall is 200.
